Kota Tinggi Rainforest Getaway @ 10:53 PM
Went to Kota Tinggi Rainforest Resort for a short getaway from the hussle and bustle of our fast-paced city over the Hari Raya long weekend. The resort has a few surprises despite bad comments from travellers online. We were welcome in the room by a bali-style bed! (Yvonne exclaimed that she felt like a princess sleeping on the bed with "mosquito netting" =P
While walking around the resort, we were greeted by amazing birds. Ok, not all but 2 talking birds! The sterling was talking in English and Malay and it would go "FIRE, FIRE, FIRE!" Maybe it was traumatised by a forest fire before. HAHA. The mynah near the receptionist was the more amazing. It talked like a human being. It could say greetings like "你好吗?", "Hello" and imitate other birds and also the sound made by racing cars. "Vroom Vroom!"
The Food that we had before, during and after the trip! Food at the resort was so-so. But the quality got worse after the first day. Overall, it was still edible. Definitely, it would be better if we could bring our own BBQ pit and FOOD! Just like that FOOT comm trip which end up @resort some years ago...

The surrounding of the resort. Beautiful Hills, the old rainforest and the "复古" Furnitures

Random pictures taken. Went for the fireflies cruise but didn't take any pictures because it is prohibited. It's the first time in my life to see so many fireflies. But the cruise was boring after a while because we were just viewing trees after trees of fireflies. The surprise element was gone. Occasionally, one or two fireflies would flew close to the boat and stirred some commotion. Other than that, they were just resting on the trees mating, perhaps. Still, it's quite a spectacular. Also went for a short rainforest trekking. Nothing much except for mozzies and leeches that freak out the kids who went along with the group.

Waterfall Fun inside waterfall resort. My first time there. Quite shiok to feel the gushing water splashing on you. But the place was too commercialized and i doubt the cleaniness of the water! Haha. Nevertheless, we still took pictures of the nice waterfall.
Final day..We went to the fruitfarm where we see lots of different fruit trees, Passion fruits, guava, starfuits, papaya, durian, rambutan just to name a few. Bought a few starfruits and guavas back home.

It's a back to nature/kampung trip - slow-paced and relaxing, visiting places where we don't get to visit in singapore. Not exactly a spectacular trip like going to further places like korea or japan, but no doubt it is enjoyable! It is not the places you go to or the activities that you do, it is always the company/person who go with you and do the activities that make the trip enjoyable!
