Pumpfest...scrap or not?

OMG! OMG! OMG! Juz came back from a gruelling 4-hr odac elitists meeting...Practically got nothing to do since my lesson ended at 1230hrs, except for waiting the meeting to start at 1900hrs. I almost spent my whole afternoon sleeping in library. (For those people with no hall, LWN library sofa is kan phua nice to sleep especially when u got long break in between lesson!) Woke up at 4+pm to surf net and i happened to view CK's blog. He's openly condemning all the emos guys, saying them trying to win over girls by showing their weakness. Seriously i think he's just pure jealous!! hahaha...

Neway, i met the odac elitists (except for gary and SZ cos they've passed their prime) for dinner before meeting started. Munir was running thru' all the work plan of the year and those job scope for individual portfolio. I could already feel the pressure from the amount of work load. Then we came upon point no.7 on the agenda->Pumpfest! (For those who don't know, pumpfest is a bouldering competition) Some people were for it while some against. Well, as someone who is not a climber and didn't really help out in pumpfest, I actually support the idea of having pumpfest. The only problem is to find 2 good SPOs to step out and organise the committee.

Some may have argued that pumpfest is not really under the objective of odac. I felt that there is a need to have such a national event to be around. First of all is to continue the legacy since PF has been running for 10yrs. Secondly, it will be an event that will help raise the profile of NTU Odac. Thirdly, it will almost be like a get together for the Odac family when we have big event like that whereby seniors from previous com will come back and help. And it is of a certain signficance to seniors and passionate climbers be they from outside or from NTU.

I believe an event wouldn't last for such a long time if there is nothing worth keeping it. Personally, I see it as a challenge. I feel uni Odac should be operating on a higher platform. Organising such an event is a prove of our capability. And this is the kind of event which bond people together too. Spending days together, knowing each other better. Being realistic here, this would also be a good learning platform for most of us and we can take the invaluable experience to our job next time.

Time 2300....And we were still at pt.7 out of 16 on the meeting agenda!!! Luckily Munir pushed for the meeting to go on or else I'll still be in school at this time...haha...Update on foot again...shall get it done by this weekend...haha....
